It is the festival of worshipping Goddess Parvati or maa Parvati called as Gauri. The mangal Gauri puja is observed by the women for receiving a loving husband like Lord Shiva
This puja is performed by married and unmarried women for their life partners. While married women pray for their husband’s good health and unmarried women observe Gauri puja to get an ideal lovable partner. As per Hindu scriptures, Goddess Sita performed Gauri puja to get Lord Rama.
According to the mythical story, When asuras used to torture innocent people, married women prayed to Goddess Gauri to save their Husbands and Families from the wrath of asuras. As per history, the day when married women approached Maa Gauri for help, that day was Shudha Paksha Asthami of Bhadrapad month.
On the day of Gauri puja idol of Gauri is welcomed with fervor. The Idol is dressed up, decorated with jewelry and different flowers. Gauri puja is done by Performing Aarti. All women taking part in Gauri puja should stay awake the whole night.
Gauri puja is for removing the obstacles or difficulties in finding the right partner, delay in marriage. This Gauri puja will puts end to all sufferings.
